Veere a small town located at the Veerse Meer in the province of Zeeland. It is a beloved mooring place for boaters. The warehouses and the merchant houses along the Kaai recall the heyday of Veere in the 16th and 17th centuries.

Politieke partijen in verkiezingstijd komen soms met bijzondere voorstellen. Vaak goed onderbouwt maar soms ook onrealistisch. Gratis openbaarvervoer voor iedereen, is zon uitspraak die politici in verkiezingstijd graag doen. In de gemeente Veere is het thema door Dorpsbelangen en Toerisme (D&T) ook maar weer eens op tafel gelegd. Is het slechts verkiezingsretoriek of toch een serieuze optie?

In July 2008 we visited the province of Zeeland by boat. A short impression of the towns Veere, Goes and Middelburg.

Due to the weather pattern of The Netherlands we see many nights with beautiful vanilla skies. One night when it was windy I decided to record it and speed it up. Hope you like it!

Two towns in Zeeland. Veere is a small vissershaven ("fisherman's harbor" -- I don't know if we have a word for this) that's popular with tourists -- especially German tourists, apparently. The menu at the cafe was printed in Dutch and German. Middelburg is a much larger town (~50k people to Veere's 1.5k). Oh, and a minor pet peeve of mine: people who pronounce the "Roo" in "Roosevelt" to rhyme with "shoe." It doesn't. I'm still tweaking the format of the title pages and haven't come up with ...
